I have been a licensed cosmetologist for over a decade and love the creativity it allows me to engage in while making others feel beautiful. I worked full time as a stylist for several years before returning to the path of teaching, but have always worked part time as a stylist.
After my youngest son was born, I realized I wouldn’t be able to work full time for a while until his health became more stable, and began wracking my brain on how to bring in income while working from home and having a flexible schedule. I immediately jumped to my fall back HAIR! I made the decision to open a small salon in my backyard. Yes, I know how crazy that sounds, but I have a large backyard and could see how this would work. I began designing my dream shop with three stations so that I could have a place for me to work part time, and have a place for two other stylists.
Backyard Beauty was in business for several years and was such a blessing to me and my family. I made the decision to close the salon when I moved away from Caldwell in 2022.
